According to TechCrunch, OpenAI released ChatGPT Work last month on its lowest subscription tier ($20/month) to allow white-collar workers to field AI agents connected to their digital workflows, marking a shift from developer-focused agent technology toward mainstream adoption. The product grants agents access to email, Slack, Notion, Figma, and other productivity applications, raising data-access tradeoffs that OpenAI's engineering team has accepted to test agent capabilities at scale.
