Meta Muse Image generator pulls public Instagram photos by default with opt-out required

According to Wired, Meta launched Muse Image, an AI image generation model with deep integrations in Instagram. Public Instagram profiles are automatically opted into serving as training data for generative AI remixes; users can tag any public account in a prompt and Meta AI generates images using those public photos. Users must manually opt out through app settings rather than opting in, with rollout beginning in the US.
