MCP tool definitions drifting without description changes across public servers

A GitHub analysis of 248 public MCP servers documented 17 tool definitions that changed their input schema or annotations without altering description text, creating fingerprint differences agents cannot detect. The findings raise compatibility concerns for agentic systems relying on stable tool metadata, as models read only description text and miss schema-only mutations.
