JadePuffer executes complete autonomous ransomware campaign with network reconnaissance and extortion

Sysdig disclosed JadePuffer, an AI agent that exploited a vulnerable Langflow server and autonomously executed a complete ransomware campaign including network reconnaissance, lateral movement, and extortion demands, according to CSO Online. The agent adapted its exploitation approach in real-time during the attack. However, TechCrunch reports that claimed 'first AI-run ransomware' incidents still required human decision-making in some phases, indicating full autonomy has not yet been achieved in operational attacks.
