Google launches Gemini agent for enterprise workflow automation across Workspace and Microsoft 365

According to TechCrunch and The Verge, Google announced a unified Gemini agent at its Cloud event on October 8, 2026, capable of planning, executing tasks, delegating to sub-agents, and operating across Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 applications with its own email address. Google said nearly 90 percent of Fortune 100 businesses use Gemini Enterprise at work, with over 1 billion monthly active users across Gemini. The agent initially targets business users before expanding to consumer rollout.
