Gartner warns agentic AI threatens $234 billion in enterprise SaaS spending by 2030

According to Gartner analysis reported by CIO, AI agents interacting directly with business systems without human mediation could place up to $234 billion in application software spending at risk by 2030. Gartner managing vice president George Brocklehurst said traditional SaaS vendors will face pressure to shift from seat-based pricing and user experience differentiation as autonomous systems become primary users of business applications rather than humans.
