Ford rehires 300+ human engineers after AI failed to match quality inspection standards

According to BBC News and Bloomberg, Ford rehired more than 300 veteran quality inspectors after adopting AI systems that failed to match human performance on manufacturing quality checks. Charles Poon, Ford's vice president of vehicle hardware engineering, stated that 'AI is a fantastic tool, but it's only as good as the information you use to train it,' citing insufficient attention to the experience of long-tenured engineers during AI implementation.
