CompTIA study finds insufficient AI skills cited as top adoption barrier by 24% of companies

According to CIO, the CompTIA Workforce and Learning Trends 2026 study found that companies cite insufficient skills using AI (24%), insufficient core domain skills (24%), and insufficient integration skills (21%) as major challenges for AI adoption. The report indicates CIOs are wrestling with fundamental governance questions about data access for AI systems, including whether AI tools should be restricted from accessing documents that human employees cannot access.
