Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Nvidia, Salesforce launch ARD protocol for agent tool discovery and safety

According to CIO, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Nvidia, Salesforce, and others have created the Agentic Resource Discovery (ARD) protocol to standardize how AI agents discover which tools they should use, where to find them, and how to use them safely within corporate domains. The protocol addresses a key challenge for enterprises deploying agentic AI: determining tool access and usage boundaries without manual configuration.
