According to The Verge, Apple released a new version of Siri that users report handles tasks reliably for the first time in 15 years, moving from 'sort of useful at a few things' to consistent performance. In an interview, Apple software chief Craig Federighi stated the new Siri is designed to know when to stop engaging, explicitly rejecting the engagement-focused design of chatbots from OpenAI and Google.
