Surveys identify governance and accountability as primary constraint on agentic AI adoption

According to ZDNET analysis of three separate surveys from Deloitte, KPMG PwC, and Accenture, governance, accountability frameworks, and human-agent relationships—not technical capabilities—are the primary bottlenecks in scaling AI agents. Deloitte found that while 43 percent of organizations are expanding AI agent deployments, only 15 percent have reached scaled multi-agent deployments, 20 percent have workforce readiness, and 16 percent have processes prepared for agentic adoption, despite 74 percent of leaders expecting half their business processes to be redesigned around AI agents by 2030.
