OpenAI Codex SQLite logging bug writes 640 TB/year, threatening SSD endurance

According to GitHub issue reports and Notebookcheck, OpenAI's Codex CLI writes approximately 640 terabytes per year to a local SQLite feedback database through verbose TRACE-level logging that cannot be disabled via standard environment variables. On a machine with 21 days of uptime, the database had written 37 TB; a 1 TB consumer SSD rated for 600 TBW lifetime would exhaust its warranty in under one year at this write rate.
